Flier for slubbing machines. It can be produced on the modular principle from prefabricated constructional elements in different sizes. Its hollow flier arm is made straight. Mounted rotatably in it is a carrier tube for the press finger, said carrier tube forming a slubbing-guide channel over at least some of its length. The length of this carrier tube is variable in order to match different bobbin lengths. Furthermore, the die-cast region of the flier head for the fliers of different sizes is designed so that it can be produced by means of the same die-casting tool. To adapt the flier to larger bobbin diameters, at least one spacer piece can be inserted between the flier head and the flier arm.
