Zusammenfassung:	In the case of a soft packing flat gasket, such as in particular a cylinder head gasket for internal combustion engines the areas of soft packing which are not to be impregnated, that is in particular the areas later bordering the through holes, are pretreated with an oil repellant agent so that in the ensuing impregnation these areas remain free of solvent. The areas free of impregnating agent are thereby also less susceptible to plastic deformation under high pressures than the impregnated areas, so that especially in the non-impregnated area around the bordered through holes an area with higher sealing pressures and hence optimum sealing characteristics is obtained after fitting.
