Zusammenfassung:	Guide sheath for head rests on vehicle seats which receives in a sliding manner a rod of the head rest and has at the upper end a locking device which is provided with a handle and interacts with a locking stop at the lower end of the rod and prevents the rod being pulled out when the handle is not actuated, the sheath bore at the other end having a widened portion which receives an elongate spring element which interacts with a front longitudinal side with the rod of the head rest and is supported with a rear longitudinal side on the wall of the widened portion, an unlocking element with two legs with parallel spacing being arranged in the widened portion, which legs interact, lying in each case to the side of the sheath bore, with their ends with the ends of the spring element and can be moved by the handle onto the spring element in the direction of their longitudinal extent.
