Microfilm reader for roll microfilm provided with markings

In the case of a microfilm reader for roll microfilm, arranged on spools, on which a coloured, preferably dark, standard marking for scanning and/or counting mechanisms is, or is to be, provided for each microimage outside the image field thereof, and which has an illuminating device, a film gate (trap) which preferably consists of two glass plates between which the microfilm can be guided, an imaging (image-forming) lens assigned to said device and gate, and a screen onto which the microimage can be projected, if necessary by means of deflecting mirrors, as well as preferably at least one electric motor and, if necessary, a film feed mechanism, arranged between said motor and the spool or spools, and switch elements for switching the film feed on and off, the aim is for it to be possible to provide the individual microimages subsequently with image marks. It is provided for this purpose that the film gate (14a; 4b) has a cutout (14c) at a point at which the standard markings (3b) can be moved past as the film is fed, that an ink-jet unit (15) is arranged in the reader, and that the spray nozzles (15a) of said unit are directed in the region of the cutout (14c) onto the film (3).
