Zusammenfassung:The method according to the invention relates to the field of welding. The method of electro-slag welding with the aid of self-consuming plate electrodes consists in that reduced filler metal (9) is fed to the welding gap. The electrodes (4) are introduced into the gap in pairs, opposite each other and at an angle equal to the camber angle of the end faces (3) to be welded. The electrodes (4) are arranged in such a way that their major edges (5) run parallel to the end faces (3) to be welded and the minor edges (6) protrude beyond the limits of the side face (7) of the product (1) to be welded. The method according to the invention can be used most successfully in power-generation, metallurgical and heavy machine construction.
