Zusammenfassung: | The state of the art is the starting aid for supporting the mixture preparation principally when cold starting spark-ignition engines by electrical resistance heating. This is necessary by reason of the exhaust emissions legislation. Processes exist which owing to an enlarged surface are more efficient in getting fuel particles to evaporate, principally in the starting phase (MTZ December 1982 Report: The new 55kW engine as largest engine size for the VW Polo Coupe p.561 et seq). The energy requirement is very high, up to approx. 700 watts depending on the temperature. The starting aid and support for mixture preparation according to the invention, principally for cold starting of spark-ignition engines, utilises ultrasonic atomisation and requires less than 1/10th to 1/100th of the energy of resistance heating. No heating-up time is required and considerably more energy is available for the starter than hitherto. |
