Zusammenfassung:	Methods for growing and planting out plants or seedlings, where in each case one seed, embedded in a filler composition such as soil, peat or a substrate permitting growth, is introduced into an essentially cylindrically shaped sleeve made of paper, plastic film or the like, should be utilisable for all plant species. This is achieved by using a coating material for the sleeves of the planting units containing seed, which material is adapted to the plant species in question with regard to its penetrability for the plant roots.
