Roofing element for producing roofs covered with straw, thatch or the like

The invention relates to a roofing element for producing roofs covered with straw, thatch or the like, which is prefabricated. To cover the roof, a plurality of such roofing elements are joined together on the roof truss construction. One roofing element consists of a supporting panel (21), the upper side of which is provided with a multiplicity of stalks (23.1) in a dense stalk pack. The edges of the supporting panel (21) have stepped grooves (24.1, 24.2), two sides, situated at right angles to one another, being constructed so as to engage above and the other two sides being constructed so as to engage below. The stalks (23.1) are adhesively bonded in a dense stalk pack (23) to the supporting panel (21); their angle of inclination (23.20, 23.21, 23.22) is set so that the individual stalks (23.1) have, in the fitted position, an inclination falling with respect to the horizontal. The stalks employed are cut-to-length stalk sections of straw, thatch or synthetic stalk material.
