Variable multi-purpose profile system

By choosing a simple profile shape, a versatile system can be built up, for example as a wall covering, flat-roof edge profile, curtain rail or handrail. The system consists of an edge profile and a connection profile. The fastening part is integrated into the edge profile in such a way that it can be packed in a space-saving manner. A special rotation-locking mechanism permits efficient mounting. The fastening part can be equipped with a force-dependent detachable connection. The connection profiles can be suspended from one another in an endless sequence starting from the edge profile, it being possible for the parts to be fixed folded at 90 degrees. In this position, a forced rear ventilation is maintained. The entire system is movable per se so as to compensate for thermal movements and thus fulfils an important requirement of DIN 18339. The edge profile itself is a single part, whereas comparable commercially available profiles have to be put together from a plurality of individual parts during mounting. The specially designed profile loop in the edge profile produces, together with the coupled connection belonging to the system, a labyrinth which is secure against automatic uncoupling while retaining free mobility in accordance with DIN 18339.
