Multiple switch, especially an ignition/starter switch for motor vehicles

The invention relates to a multiple switch, which is especially suitable as an ignition/starter switch for motor vehicles. A central contact (2) can be connected by means of contact links (4.1, 4.2) to a plurality of outer stationary contacts (3a, 3b, 3c, 3d), in an alternating switching sequence. Each contact link is in permenant contact with the central contact (2), by means of a stamped contact surface (4b), and, at the other end, has a freely rotatable contact roller (4c) for making contact with the stationary contacts (3a, 3b, 3c, 3d). The stationary contacts are partially enclosed on one or both sides by control tracks (5a, 5b, 5c) for the contact rollers (4c) of the contact links (4.1, 4.2). No circuit making or breaking occurs on the central contact (2) and on the transition from the contact shaft to the contact roller (4c), and hence also no errosion. The electrical stress occurs mainly on the external circumference of the contact rollers (4c) and on the stationary contacts. This structure ensures excellent quality and a clean switching behaviour with a simple and space-saving construction.
