Zusammenfassung:	2-Polyfluoroalkylmalonic acids and their derivatives of the formula in which R1 stands for a C3- to C21-perfluoroalkyl and M and M in each case stand for hydrogen, an alkali metal, ammonium or a C1- to C10-alkyl, are made available, furthermore acrylic compounds of the formula in which R1 has the abovementioned meaning and Y stands for a carboxyl group or a functional group derived from this, and also polymers which contain the monomeric units of the formula in which R1 and Y have the abovementioned meanings, and optionally structural units originating from at least one ethylenically unsaturated compound. These are useful as water- and oil-repellent agents and also as intermediates for the preparation of other substances which have practical utility per se.
