Zusammenfassung:	The protective device is intended to prevent sparking during mechanical actions on components made of metal, in particular light metal, so that it can be used in potentially explosive areas, such as mines. In this arrangement, the protective device covers at least part of the outer surface of the metal component as a housing and is distinguished by the fact that it is designed as a flexible stocking which is at least partly made of textile material, encloses the construction to be protected, adapts itself to the outer surface and can be detachably fastened to the components to be protected.
