Zusammenfassung:In sheet or section stretching machines, the sheet to be stretched is clamped in clamping heads which are moved apart by hydraulic cylinder units. One of the clamping heads - the counterclamping head - is movable because of the differing lengths of the sheet to be stretched and is locked positively and nonpositively in various positions by means of force-transmitting pressure elements. The pressure elements are generally situated at the height of the sheet to be stretched, between the stretching clamping head accommodating the stretching cylinder and the counterclamping head. When the counter- clamping head is locked in the pressure elements by means of pins and holes, the spacing of the holes is relatively large, leading to increased strokes of the hydraulic stretching cylinder units. In order to avoid this, the pressure elements of the present sheet stretching machine have toothing on the upper and lower side, into which engageable or releasable locking pieces equipped with a plurality of teeth and arra nged in the counterclamping head engage. The coupling operation is effected by hydraulic cylinders by means of axially displaceable wedges connected to the locking pieces via guides. Various constructions to bring about the coupling operation are described.
