A plastics injection mould or compression mould having at least one mould part displaceably guided essentially perpendicularly to the mould closing direction comprises actuating elements which are designed as toothed racks (A, B, C) which are arranged transversely with respect to one another, have inclined teeth and the intermeshing teeth flanks of which form the pairs of sliding surfaces. The toothed rack (C) bearing the displaceable mould part (19) is provided on the upper side or under side with a toothing (32) which comprises two sliding-surface directions (x, y) superposed one on the other. By the displacement of a guide body (12) provided with guide channels (15, 16, 17) for the toothed racks (A, B, C), various movement sequences can be executed for the individual mould parts. The main toothed rack (C) represents a standard which can, according to choice, be brought into engagement with one or more counter-racks (A, B).
