Zusammenfassung:The process for nitriding magnetic conductor parts of armco iron comprises heating the parts in a saturation medium. After a temperature equal to the temperature of the formation of active nitrogen has been reached, a direct magnetic field of a strength of 1.6-80 kA/m is generated. The isothermal holding of the parts is also carried out in saturation medium under the action of the magnetic field. In the first stage of the isothermal holding, the nitrogen potential is held at a level at which the formation of an alpha -solid nitrogen solution in iron is ensured, and in the second stage it is held at a level at which the formation of an epsilon -iron nitride is ensured. Cooling of the parts to a temperature, at which air oxidation of the surface of the treated parts is excluded, is carried out under the action of the magnetic field.
