Outside rear-view mirror for motor vehicles

The invention relates to an outside rear-view mirror for a motor vehicle, especially for a motorbike, which may have fairing, which mirror is contained by a casing which is connected to a supporting plate, which is fastened to an outside surface of the vehicle, via at least one catch element which is locked into a reception recess. The outside rear-view mirror according to the invention is characterised by the fact that a stop is active between its casing and the outside surface of the vehicle on which the mirror is mounted, or the supporting plate, and supports the casing in the event of movement induced by an impact, all the catch connections provided then being completely released, i.e. until the casing falls out. All the catch connections provided can be reinstated simply by pressing in a linear fashion the catch elements into the reception recesses provided.
