Beschreibung
Zusammenfassung:Absorbable surgical suture material based on monocarboxycellulose of the general formula: where m is the degree of polymerisation of the cellulose used and is in the range from 250 to 3300; p is the mole fraction of the D-glucopyranose ring in a polymer member and is in the range from 0.95 to 0.05; q is the mole fraction of the D-anhydroglucuronic acid rings and is in the range from 0.05 to 0.95; s is the mole fraction of the complex-bound D-anhydroglucuronic acid fragment, of the metal and of the ligand and is in the range from 0.03 to 0.55; Me is a transition metal; n is the valency of the transition metal and is >/= 4; Lig are multidentate ligands; Dent is the number of coordinating atoms in the ligands and is >/= 2. The essence of the process for producing the stated material comprises treating cellulose fibres first with nitrogen oxides, then over the course of 0.5-2.0 hours with a 0.5-2.0% strength solution of the salt of a transition metal whose coordination number is at least 4 in a suitable solvent, and finally over the course of 0.5-2.0 hours with a 1.0-2.0% strength solution of a multidentate complexing agent in a suitable solvent.
