Continuous loop single spool magnetic tape cassette - has tape passed from inner spool region to outer over guide rollers

A single spool continuous tape loop cassette is designed for both audio and video recording applications. The single spool is located on an inner core that consists of two parts (21,22) that are hinged together. The tape is transferred from the inner region of the spool to the outer over a number of guide rollers (12,25,26). A separate tape (18) with a graphite coating is located between the magnetic tape layer to minimise friction and electrical conductivity. The magnetic tape passes over record replay and erase heads (15,16,17).
