Zusammenfassung:	The differential (1) for front wheel drive vehicles is in a closed housing with the axles (4,5) held in a block shaped differential cage (3), in which the bevel gears (7,8,9) run in corresp. slots. The meshing points between the gears are drillings which connect to the housing interior (22), so that oil is drawn up through induction tubes by the gears, to form an oil pump to pressurise the gear cage and also form an oil brake. A thermostat controls the flow of oil by opening or closing the induction tube inlets dependent on the oil temp., to ensure constant brake pressure.
