Zusammenfassung:Long-lasting, flavoured chewing gum is prepd. as follows: (a) a non-sugar sweetener (I) is codried or coated with an inorganic filler (II) (wt. ratio (I):(II) is 1:10-100), then the mixt. is combined with melted fum base ingredients to form a gum base; (b) the gum base (contg. the (I):(II) combination as a uniform dispersion) is then mixed with glavours, sweeteners, emulsifiers, and plasticisers to form a chewing gum. (I) is a saccharin or aspartame. (II) is CaCO3, talc, Mg, trisilicate, diatomaceous earth, Al2O3, or mixts. The gum base and filler provide a carrier for (I) which allows a controlled, prolonged release of (I) and flavour. The filler (II) remains in the gum base and is not released with (I).
