Zusammenfassung: | A process for producing high-density, high-strength carbon material and graphite material from raw coke. Raw coke finely pulverised product alone, or in combination with a binder pitch, is press-molded, the resulting molding is subjected to a primary baking at temperatures of 450-700`C which are lower than in prior art, and the baked product is then impregnated with pitch and subjected to secondary baking at elevated temperatures in a conventional manner. The graphite material is produced by graphitizing the carbon material in a conventional manner. The use of highly pure raw petroleum coke having an ash content of 500 ppm as a starting material according to the preferred embodiment without using the binder pitch provides a particularly useful highly pure graphite material for semiconductors and nuclear reactor materials. |
