Zusammenfassung:	The mechanism is intended for moving a workpiece carrier (12) from one conveyor belt (10) to a parallel second belt (11), moving in the opposite direction, using a transverse conveyor (13) . The carrier (12) is provided with a guide pin (24) which engages a transverse slot (23) in a guide rail (21) extending across the two belts, whilst the carrier is moved by the transverse conveyor. The transverse conveyor may consist of an endless belt (16) around pulleys (18,19) with vertical axes, which extends across the parallel belts and is provided with external teeth engaged by corresponding projections on the workpiece carrier. Alternatively a friction belt or a chain, capable of engaging these projections may be used.
