Zusammenfassung: | Sprayable, inverting multiple contact adhesive dispersion comprises a polychloroprene latex (I), a soln. of a tackifying resin (II) in an organic solvent dispersed in (I), surfactants such as emulsifiers and protective colloids and opt. other conventional additives. The components of the dispersion are present in amts. such that the dispersion is a low viscosity oil-in-water emulsion prior to application with a spraying pistol or other suitable spraying device but converts to mainly a highly viscous water-in-oil emulsion under shear during spraying. (I) is pref. a latex of a chloroprene-acrylic acid copolymer contg. PVA as protective colloid. (II) is a terpene-phenol resin opt. mixed with alkylphenol-, synthetic hydrocarbon- and/or modified colophony resins in a wt. ratio of 1:1. The adhesive can be used to adhere foams to each other and to other solvent resistant materials. The compsn. has high solids content similar to oil-in-water dispersions but can be applied in low amts. to foams like solvent based adhesives but with the advantage of reduced organic solvent content. |
