Vibration absorbing resin film compsn. - comprising copolymer of alkyl acrylate! alkyl methacrylate! and unsatd. amide! vinyl! ester!, opt. filler, epoxy! resin and metal alcoholate

Resin compsn. comprises 10-90 wt.% copolymer (I) of a 4-10C alkyl acrylate, 1-3C alkyl methacrylate, an amide of an unsatd. 3-5C monocarboxylic acid and opt. a 3-5C unsatd. monocarboxylic acid, 90-10 wt.% polymer (II) of a 4-6C vinyl ester, 0-80 wt.% (w.r.t. (I)) and (II)) inorganic filler (III), 0-10 wt.% (w.r.t (I) and (II)) epoxy resin (IV) with an average epoxy equiv. wt. of 100-5000 and 0-10 wt.% (w.r.t. (I) and (II)) alcohol ester (V) of a di-, tri- or tetravalent metal. (I) pref. has a Tg of -50 to -10 deg.C and is prepd. from 70-85 wt.% alkyl acrylate, 5-20 wt.% alkyl methacrylate, 3-10 wt.% unsatd. amide esp. methacrylamide and 0-5 wt.% unsatd. monocarboxylic acid esp. (meth)acrylic acid. (II) pref. has a Tg of 5-50 deg.C and is esp. PVAc. (III) is an oxide, carbonate and/or mineral filler. (III) are e.g. glycidyl ethers of bisphenols. (II) is esp. a Mg, Ca or Al alcoholate of e.g. ethanol, propanol, butanol, ethylene glycol etc. The compsn. is used to prepare vibration absorbing films and sheets which maintain their vibration absorbing properties over a wide temp. range. The sheets can be used in vehicles, machines and as construction parts.
