Zusammenfassung: | The transcutaneous pickup for the polarographic determination of the partial pressure of a gas (O2, CO2) present in blood or in tissue has a plurality of cathodes (1, 2, ...) which are surrounded by an insulating body in the shape of a small tube and made from glass or plastic (1b, 2b, ...) and are arranged inside a reference electrode (5) which consists of metal and which surrounds individual cathode elements. The reference electrode is preferably a heatable anode. In contrast to previously known multi-cathode systems, it is possible by means of the invention to select the cross-sectional area of an individual measuring cell (M1, M2, ...) to be very much smaller, and the metallic material of the reference electrode, which conducts heat effectively, remains between the individual measuring cells, so that there is an unhindered heat transfer from a heating winding (6) surrounding the reference electrode even in the central region of the measuring cell, with the result that it is possible to guarantee satisfactory hyperaemia. |
