Zusammenfassung:Considerably increased packing density is achieved with these charge coupled devices used for speech synthesis, by storing the amplitude pattern of each speech unit in analogue form. Forty to seventy charge coupled devices (1a-1n), depending on speech quality are arranged in parallel. The devices are selected by means of an eight bit code by a selector (16) and linked via an attenuator (17) to a loud-speaker (6). With a channel width of approx. 100 microns and about 70 devices a chip area of about 1 sq. cm. would be required.
