(I) are useful as intermediates for plant protection agents, esp. phosphate or phosphonate esters.S (I) can be prepd. by reacting an amidoxime of formula RC(NH2)=NOH (II) with an acetoacetic acid deriv. (III) and cyclising or saponifying the resulting intermediate.
