A press measurement cell with a membrane deformable according to the pressure is esp. for determining the induction pressure of an internal combustion engine. The membrane (2) is formed on a plate-shaped substrate (1) of ceramic, glass or enamelled metal using thick film techniques resulting in a solid attachment between membrane and substrate. The membrane may be formed of glass-ceramic. It is between 20 and 30 microns thick, and pref. about 100 microns. The membrane curvature is convex in the central region and concave peripherally. The cell is evacuated or filled with gas at a defined pressure via a tunnel which is then sealed with glass.
