Loading control for roll film cassette - has locking cam in threading slot and hinged film guide

The loading control for a roll film cassette has a slot (14) through the centre of the cassette spool with retaining tags (15) to grip the film end with a friction hold when further turns are wound onto the spool. The tags protrude out of the line of the cassette. A pivoted guide arm feeds the film to the spool and then swinis aside to allow unimpeded threading. The feed arm is located by a spring loaded servo (11) while the spool is held in the loading position by a retaining claw (20). The whole operation is performed automatically in a dark box without danger of tearing the film sprocket holes.
