Zusammenfassung:	The indexing multiple tool holder for machine tools is particularly for lathes, having a tool turret turning in a stationary housing, and thrust axially by a cam mechanism in order to release the dog clutch locking it to the housing. The latter accommodates a reversible motor acting via an epicyclic gear train. A spring-loaded sliding locking bolt temporarily secures the turret to a stationary component before the dog clutch engages and is :ontrolled dependent on motor operation. A spring-loaded locking member slides axially and is coaxial to the dog teeth. The gear train is of the multi-stage type, and to brake the turret one input to it can be driven in the opposite direction to that necessary to turn it.
