Zusammenfassung: | The tappet has a cap fitting over a dowel. The cap is depressed by an overhead cam and engages the dowel through saw tooth gears on the inside of the cap and outside of the dowel. Oil can be admitted to a chamber between the cap and dowel and raises the cap from the dowel. As it does so profiled plates cause relative rotation of the cap and dowel. When the pressure is released further plates cause further rotation. The rotation disengages the saw teeth and stops further operation of the valve. The disengaging action can take place over several engine strokes. |
