Zusammenfassung:A two pass air heater comprises two tiers of tube bundles (1,2) in each of a number of parallel gas ducts (3). Air to be heated passes over the tubes in cross flow to hot gases passing through the tubes. Connecting conduits (6) are provided for guiding air leaving each first tier tube bundle into the second tier tube bundle of an adjacent gas duct. Air leaving the first tier tube bundle (1) of the last gas duct is fed to the second tier tube bundle (2) of the first gas duct via a conduit (6'). Alternatively the tiers of tube bundles are arranged in the form of a ring.
