Shaft for frame weir - consists of synthetic-impregnated glass fibre, with synthetic end discs

The shaft consists of a tube (10) with a dia. of pref. 200--400 mm, the tube being formed from wound synthetic impregnated glass fibre. The tube ends have an internal thread. A disc (13) of synthetic material is screwed into each tube end. A metal axle journal (15) projects from the external disc surface. The internal disc surface has recesses (14) for a screwdriver. The tube wall has an assembly aperture (12) located at a distance from the end, which is slightly larger than the length of the disc and the journal. The aperture dimensions permit the insertion of the screw driver.
