Bathing cap with water sealed inner edge - has peripheral pad made of foam with cells impregnated on outside with water repellent material

The bathing cap (1) has a sealing ridge in the form of a tubular pad (2) all round the inside edge, which is impregnated with water-repellent material. The seal (2) is made of open-cell foam, with the walls of the cells coated with the water-repellent impregnation, without the cells themselves being filled with it. The sealing padded edge (2) and the inner side of the bathing cap are detachably yet firmly joined. Inside the seal (2) is a cavity filled with impregnation material and joined to the roughened outer surface by a series of capillary holes.
