Zusammenfassung:Rotary vacuum filter has a trough into which the rotating elements dip to pick up liquid and form a cake. The rotor is formed from a set of prismatic chambers one surface of which is on a line tangential to an imaginary circle round the axis of the rotor. Inside each chamber there are a set of flat surface elements which are connected to a vacuum source when immersed in the slurry. There is a changeover valve to distribute the vacuum or pressure to each section. The angle between the chamber walls is between 15 and 30 degrees. Esp. for dewatering coal and ore slurries. Allows higher loading for given space requirement by increased filter surface, and gives more efficient cake removal by blowing action.
