Zusammenfassung:	An ignition coil for a single spark plug includes a coil from which a contact terminal projects, the coil and contact terminal being carried by an elastic body, such as an elastomer, that has a cavity in which the terminal is disposed and which is receptive of the contact and at least a portion of the insulator of the spark plug whereby a seal is provided therewith, there being a sprung coaction with the spark plug, thus eliminating high voltage wiring from the ignition system.
