Zusammenfassung:	In a new process for the prodn. of xanthothricin by cultivation of a microorganism on a nutrient medium contg. C sources, N sources and mineral salts and subsequent isolation of the end prod. from the culture fluid, Streptomyces brunneus subspecies xanthothricini is used as the microorganism. Xanthothricin (synonym toxoflavin) is a known antibiotic with antibacterial activity. Unlike known xanthothricin producing organisms, Streptomyces brunneus subspecies, xanthothricini has a high capacity for producing xanthothricini.
