Zusammenfassung: | In the prodn. of deep drawn (co)polypropylene mouldings with good low temp. properties, biaxially oriented film or sheet is used as starting material, which has a yield point of >=6% in all directions. This is preheated to 70-120 degrees C and deep drawn at 80-120 degrees C, pref. at a forming rate of 102 - 5 x 103 mm/min.. Deep drawing can be carried out at esp. low temps. in simple equipment previously only suitable for processing metals. The moulding remains clear and has improved cold impact strength. The process is useful for making cups. |
