Zusammenfassung:A process for maintaining catalytic selectively to vinylidene chloride in the vapor phase catalytic dehydrochlorination of 1,1,2-trichloroethane comprises contacting a gaseous mixture of 1,1,2- trichloroethane and a non-reactive diluent with a catalyst in the vapor phase at a temperature of at least 375 DEG C. and a total pressure of at least 3.5 atmospheres while maintaining the partial pressure of 1,1,2-trichloroethane in the gaseous mixture at not more than 3.0 atmospheres.
