Hinged safety bow preventing crossing over of skis - is of polyolefin with antistatic additive rejecting wet snow

To prevent the crossing over of one ski by the other which has gone out of line during running at high speed, with the risk of a serious accident, a safety bow is fitted, as described in the parent patent. The bow is placed between the point of the ski and the binding, and in the event of a fall, the steeply inclined bow folds over downwards against resistance. Improvement is that to prevent the possibility of jamming by wet snow, the bow and its hinge are made from a polyolefin, pref. polyethylene, polypropylene or PTFE or have a coating of this material. The polyolefin reject water and this quality can be increased by the addn. of an antistatic such as polyglycol ether.
