Zusammenfassung:An impact absorbing support for the front of a vehicle in which the front bulkhead (11) is linked to the bumper support by a straight frame member with crushable design. A lower, stronger member (20) is fitted under the bulkhead and extends forward to a cross member some way behind the bumper. The lower member is linked to the upper member by an angled strut on each side. In a collision the lower member retains its support for the bulkhead while the upper member absorbs the impact. The structure is made from box section for weight saving and also serves to secure the suspension.
