Zusammenfassung:Catalyst of catalytically active metal fibres, consists of Ag, Pt, Rh, Pd or an alloy based on one of these metals, esp. a PT alloy contg. 5-10%Rh, is in the form of a needled felt. Several layers of the needled felt are interlocked, and the edges are consolidated by welding. The catalyst is used in the oxidn. of NH3 and in the mfr of HCN and HCHO. It has satisfactory mechanical dimensional stability and a very large contact area and hence high catalytic activity. It can be produced in a time- and cost-saving manner.
