Zusammenfassung:A high accuracy position determining system is used to determine the tool tip position of a numerically controlled lathe. The field of vision of a television camera (9) is made to coincide with the measuring field containing the tool tip (10). The tangential point of the tip coincides with one of the scanning lines of the electron beam in the measuring field for determining its position along the Z axis. The position of the tip along the X axis is determined by the time used by the electron beam to move from its reversal point to the point where the beam is intersected by the tip.
