Zusammenfassung:MgSO4 is roasted in the presence of a reducing agent to convert MgO lignite coke or soot being used as the reducing agent. The MgOs4 contains e.g. MgSO3. Lignite coke or soot is added to a slurry of a mixt. of MgSO4 and MgSO3 produced from the desulphurisation process of waste gas. The lignite coke and soot inclusive of carbon black is e.g. of a size 500 mu being added at a rate of 5-50 pts. wt. w.r.t. 100 pts. wt. MgSO4. The roasting is effected for 10-60 min. at 750-900 degrees C.
