Zusammenfassung:	A chain for gearshift bicycles has parallel inside and outside links which are connected at their ends by chain pins (20) passing through holes in the links. The outside links are bent outward between these holes and have diverging chamfers on the inside running in an outward direction. The inside links may also be bent outwards. Offsets on inside and outside links may be symmetrical in relation to a lengthwise axis intersecting the axes where links are joined. The outward directed offsets of the links may make an angle between 30 and 60 DEG with the undeformed link centre portion and form chamfers inside the links. The undeformed centre section at its narrowest point may be two-thirds of the original link width before offsetting the outer edges. The offsets may have their largest dimension in the centre of the link lengthwise dimension and taper off towards the link eyes where the chain pin holes are located.
