Upright flat item transporting equipment - has vertical slots open to bottom and accommodating movable wedges

The equipment grips and transports flat items pref. plates or boards in the upright position, these being gripped near the top edge by components by components of a body movable horizontally. The grip body (1) has one or more vertical slots (2) open towards the bottom and widening towards the top when seen in horizontal cross-section. A movable wedge (3) shaped to suit the slot cross-section works in it to form a clamping piece. The body can be comb-shaped with a series of slots at relatively brief intervals while each item (8) can be clamped between the vertical slide (4) of a slot and that (5) opposite it on a wedge.
