Bucket wheel excavator shell-shaped scoop - has sharper curve at rear and forward end bend, reducing cover wear

On the bucket wheel used in excavation or dredging there are shell-shaped buckets, open to the inside, covered by a fixed arched hood on the rising section of their track, after filling, and emptying into the wheel above this, onto a chute running out sideways. The shell-shaped walling of each bucket has a more pronounced curve at the rear in section across the bucket wheel axis, and is slightly bent forward at the end. The arched hook may be insertable and withdrawable sideways, pref. on a sliding guideway. Wear on the covering hood is reduced.
