O os S). (I) are useful as growth inhibitors. They are prepd. by reacting beta-enhydrazinocarboxylic acid derivs. of formula R3R4N-NH-CR1=CH-CO-R2 with an acid chloride of formula R8-CO-Cl (in which R8 is Cl or -O-C6H4R9; R9 is H, (un)branched alkyl or halo) at 0-150 degrees C in an aprotic solvent in the presence of a tert. amine.
