Zusammenfassung:The defleshed hide, as fresh as possible, is treated mainly on the hair side with 3-15% (pref. 6%) Na2S, for 5-10 min. After 5-15 min. the hair and epidermis are stripped off. The hide is then treated for 2-5 mins. with 3-23% (pref. 12%) NaClO2 at pH 8-12. Treatment with NaClO2 oxidised all the Na2S. Unhaired hides can be then stored for > 4 months.
