Cigarette making machine buffer conveyor system - has two different level vertical shafts between horizontal belt conveyors forming alternative paths

The cigarette handling system for cigarette making machines, as in the main patent, uses a series of belt conveyors between which the cigarettes are conveyed. The cigarettes can be conveyed in different directions towards or away from a buffer store, depending on the capacity of the machines. Several alternative paths are formed. An upper horizontal section (512) is fed vertically from below through a channel (511) formed by verticals between two horizontal conveyors (513, 514). This is in turn supplied from another lower level horizontal section (519) with a second vertical channel (518). The bottom of this channel terminates above two horizontal conveyors (522, 523) which have their top strands moving towards each other to a chute (525) below.
